AnnotationThe footnotes will address the imponderables in interpreting some cryptic Icelandic lines. Other comments refer to Nordic folklore elements as added by Ásmundsson, or deal with the Icelandic plot, which – like Dracula itself – has its occasional obscurities and inconsistencies. A last category of footnotes highlights the similarities and deviations with regard to Stoker’s original novel, or explains some of its background – without the ambition, however, to create a new “annotated Dracula”. |
